Everything You Need to Know — transparent answers from Frank directly
Our process, our health guarantees,
and what it truly means to bring home a Cane Blue Corso
“We focus on those dogs that best exemplify the Italian Cane Corso of years passed — the dogs that would have been found long before the breed was in shows, when they still guarded farms, families, and entire estates.”
Common Questions
Puppies average around $2,000, though pricing varies based on pedigree depth, structural quality, gender, and registration type.
- Full AKC (breeding rights) — higher tier, for buyers who intend to breed. Litters produced are eligible for AKC registration.
- Limited AKC (companion) — AKC-registered, can compete in most events, but any litters produced are not AKC-eligible.
Frank will walk you through pricing specific to each available puppy when you connect.
We keep it personal and fully transparent at every step:
- Fill out the reservation inquiry and join the waitlist.
- We schedule a video call or FaceTime — you’ll see the puppies, the dam, and the kennel firsthand.
- If it’s a mutual fit, we send you the contract and 1-year health guarantee for your review.
- You send your deposit and sign your portion. We sign ours.
- We coordinate pickup, local delivery, or a personal flight to you on the agreed date.
Selections are made in reservation order once the litter is born and temperament assessments are complete — typically around 6–7 weeks of age. Frank personally evaluates each puppy and will guide you toward the best match for your home and lifestyle.
Yes — and we take it seriously. A Cane Corso is a powerful, intelligent breed that demands an owner who understands the commitment. We have a personal conversation with every prospective family before any placement is made.
Getting the placement right matters more to us than making a sale. We ask about your living situation, experience with large breeds, intended purpose, and home environment.
The Cane Corso originated in southern Italy and was nearly extinct before passionate Italian enthusiasts revived the breed in the 1970s. True Italian bloodlines trace directly to those founding dogs — before the breed became a show-circuit commodity and before breeders began selecting for exaggerated features over function.
At Cane Blue, we specifically preserve this traditional working-dog type: athletic, structurally sound, with the correct proportions and temperament that made this breed extraordinary for 2,000 years.
Properly bred Cane Corsos are confident, stable, and deeply loyal — not aggressive or reactive. They score 88% on the American Temperament Test Society, higher than Golden Retrievers. They are naturally protective without being unstable, highly trainable, and bond profoundly with their family.
They require confident ownership, consistent early socialization, and clear structure from the start. With the right home, they are extraordinary companions for life.
Yes. Our breeding dogs are evaluated for structural soundness, temperament, and health before any pairing is made. We study pedigrees multiple generations deep and prioritize clean health histories throughout the line. Full details are on our Sires & Dams page.
